Porsche values are driven by specification and history far more than by mileage. Understanding that is most of buying well.

Specification is the biggest variable

Two apparently identical cars can differ by tens of thousands based on options. The ones that hold value:

Chassis options — PASM, air suspension, rear-axle steering, sports exhaust
Ceramic brakes — a premium, though weigh the replacement cost carefully
The right wheels — a surprisingly large factor
Interior specification — leather choices, seats, Burmester
Colour — classic combinations sell; unusual ones narrow the pool

Options that dated badly, or that nobody wanted then, do not recover.

History over mileage

A comprehensively documented car with higher mileage is a better buy than a low-mileage car with gaps. In the Porsche market, buyers price gaps in history harshly and they are right to.

Look for main dealer or recognised marque specialist, unbroken, with invoices for major work.

Model-specific checks

911 Turbo — ceramic brake condition if fitted, front-end paint, specification list
Macan — PDK smoothness from cold, air suspension where fitted, service intervals
Electric — battery state of health, charging history, remaining battery warranty
Older cars — rust first, everything else second

Get an inspection

On any Porsche at these values, an independent pre-purchase inspection by a marque specialist is inexpensive relative to what it can save. We have no objection to buyers arranging one — a car worth buying survives scrutiny.
